What data we handle
When you write to us on WhatsApp to request a booking or ask a question, we handle:
- your WhatsApp number and profile name;
- the messages we exchange with you;
- the details of your request: restaurant, day, time, number of guests and the name the booking is under;
- any food allergies or intolerances you choose to tell us about.
Why, and on what legal basis
- To answer your request and manage the booking: this is the step prior to the service you ask us for (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Allergies and intolerances: we only handle them because you give them to us freely, so that the kitchen can take them into account (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can ask for them to be deleted at any time.
- Internal statistics about the service (number of requests, response times), without identifying anyone.
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to anyone.
Who else has access
- The front-of-house team of the restaurant the request is for, who confirm the booking.
- Meta Platforms Ireland (WhatsApp Business Platform), through which the messages travel.
- NOVASYS (DMY – Sociedade Unipessoal, Lda), which maintains and hosts the booking system on our behalf.
- Anthropic, whose artificial intelligence service helps us understand messages written in free text and translate them. This service may involve a transfer to the United States, with the safeguards provided for in the GDPR (standard contractual clauses).
For how long
Messages are kept for 90 days. Requests and bookings are kept for 24 months, to deal with complaints and for the service statistics. After that they are deleted.

You can ask for access to, rectification, erasure or restriction of your data, and object to its processing, by writing to geral@casa-coelho.pt with the WhatsApp number you used. We reply within one month at the latest.
